Mistletoe Girl The inspiration for this sweet dummy board is John Everett Millais’ “The Mistletoe Gatherer”, painted in the 19th century. Many famous paintings have been transferred to the dummy board form and this one lends itself perfectly. This early 20th C. dummy board is painted directly onto pine in oils and is in private collection in France. Nothing is known about it, as is the case with so many figures but it is a well painted and effective trompe l'œil figure. She would be at home in the dolls house garden or in a snowy Victorian street scene where she could sit quietly, waiting for someone to come and buy her Mistletoe to decorate the dolls house. Equally well, she is a pretty figure in her own right, to use as a decoration for the miniature lovers Christmas mantelpiece or as a Cabinet Piece.
